FLUFFING OR SHEDDING

Some fluffing or shedding is normal, especially for new wool or viscose rugs. This is caused by the excess fibers from the manufacturing process.

It is best to vacuum a rug often at first until the fluffing or shedding ceases.

GENERAL CLEANING

Vacuum regularly using suction vacuum to remove surface dust and loose fibers.

Perform gentle movements at low intensity speed and avoid harsh brush attachments or beater bar vacuum cleaners as they might damage the pile and create excessive shedding.

Regular cleaning of the carpet can extend the life of the carpet by making it more durable. Vacuum your rugs thoroughly at least once a week.

Rugs placed in high traffic areas or exposed to household pets should be vacuumed more frequently.

It is recommended to professionally deep clean your carpets every 12 to 18 months to remove embedded dirt and grime.

LOOSE FIBERS

Avoid pulling loose yarns/threads; use scissors to trim them to be even with the pile height.

FADING

Avoid placing a rug in direct sunlight if possible, as continuous sunlight will cause the colours to fade.

Regularly rotating your rug would help to keep the effects of fading more even.

SPILLS

Spills should be cleaned immediately.

Never rub a spill, instead blot any liquids with a dry absorbent white cloth or white paper towel. Press firmly around the spill to absorb as much as possible.

Some stains may be cleaned with a suitable mild clear detergent and lukewarm water. Avoid harsh chemicals as this may damage the rug.

For harder to remove stains, professional rug cleaning is recommended.

STORAGE

Thoroughly clean the rug before storing.

Roll your rug with the pile facing inwards; Avoid folding the rug as it can leave cracks and creases damaging the rug.

Keep the rug in vertical position and in a cool dry place that is protected from sunlight.

Wrapping the rug in a cloth would help to protect the rug from pests, dirt and dust.
